i work in a 'trendy' jewelry/etc store in the local mall. i have two coworkers, and one can say that their attire tends to leave me gagging. not only is it against company policy to have visible tattoos, wear flipflops, and have exposed undergarments, its disgusting. many times i have come into work to find the person im relieving (or they come in to relieve me) wearing clothing that is inappropriate for the workplace - any workplace. judith and veronica both have tattoos, one of veronica's is virtually impossible to hide, since its on the top of her wrist. judith's, however, should NOT be visible at all. she has what my mother calls a 'cum target', also known as a 'tramp stamp'... its one of those tattoos on the waistline of a girl's back. it shouldn't be visible at all - except for the fact that she wears short shirts and low rise pants. both of them walk around with their bras/underwear showing. veronica routinely shows up in flipflops. our dress code policy is so strict we cant even wear jeans, and technically im not supposed to wear my 'combat boots', but ive gotten them approved because they're doc martens, qualifying them as orthopedic shoes for medical purposes. veronica wears jeans at least 2-3 times a week... out of the 3-4 days she actually decides to show up for her shift (jeans are also prohibited at our workplace). ive had it with spending good money on nice clothes when my coworkers get away with wearing tshirts and flipflops. i wouldnt dream of walking around with my underwear, or my bra for that matter, showing. one could say that im very conservative in my dressing habits. i rarely even show so much as a hint of cleavage. (itd scare the hell out of the customers if i did.) but anyway, what is it that you see out in public or in your workplace that you think is inappropriate attire?

yahoo news reports that the worst offenders are
1: "A new survey showed tank tops and visible underwear are the biggest fashion faux pas on the job" -- followed closely by:
2: "Flip-flop sandals weighed in next on the list of fashion mistakes," -- and then:
3: "Hawaiian prints and shorts"

story here: what not to wear
