Right now, I’m sitting here and the tears are running down my face. I won’t be getting this job. I dressed up and looked rather nice (in my opinion). I wore a skirt, pantyhose, and heels with a nice mint green button down dress shirt and matching jewelry and coordinated makeup. I stood tall and summoned up all the bravery I had in me, but that wasn’t enough. I even showed up to the interview fifteen minutes early. The first thing, when I walked through the door, was I looked down at the sign in sheet and saw one of my old supervisor’s names listed with “interview” written right next to it. That dashed all hope I had of getting this job, and all of my confidence as well. Her name was the last name I expected to see written on that paper. I feel horrible.

A few words of wisdom.

Confidence is not something you learn, or get. Its a moment when you do not fear the end result.

This interview may not do you any good in the short term, but you still took it. The next interview, and the interview after that, will become easyer and easyer. The meaning of life could be defined as "Just because the path was difficult, everybody finaly ends up at the final destination". Or in other words, its not the end result that matters, but what you learn and remember from experience and use that experience in future situations.

Isnt it great you got all dolled up, and looked rather nice? Wasnt it just worth it for that alone?

It can be daunting to have to face an old supervisor that you might dispise, or hate. But remember theres people like that everywhere, even in the place where i work, one of the office workers is a complete prick but that doesnt stop me from thinking how much better "professionaly" i am than him.

Remember, it wasnt the piece of paper, the interview, or the person that made you feel horible. I recently heard that "humans are the only species in the world capable of deniying themselves happyness". Meaning that just as heaven is on earth, so is the hell on earth you create for yourself.

Dont worry about it, theres more jobs out there in the big bad world, another nice quote i heard "god doesnt close one door, without opening another". Everything happens for a reason.
